The brand was founded in 1972 and remains true to itself, combining performance with the pleasure of riding to deliver a good time wherever the bikes are used. After all, fun is serious business.

At least not according to Gary Turner. So, using skills learned from welding race cars, he created the first GT frame in 1972 for his child to use on the SoCal BMX racetrack. The frame was a hit. GT bikes became synonymous with durability and victory, winning more BMX races than any other bike brand at the time. GT continued to adopt new technologies, introducing 29'rs production and a new method of carbon frame construction.
